This exhibition has a cohesive visual vocabulary – an original word prompted the ten members’ individual pieces of textile art; these initial pieces then inspired the second stimulus word for the next link in the chain. This linked format produced an intriguing collection of contemporary textile art in many diverse forms. chainREACTION displays an absorbing and eclectic mix of techniques: mixed media, hand and machine embroidery and handmade felt.
