Heirloom Quilting with Steph Short

Saturday Sept 21st. To be held at Sourton Village Hall, Okehampton EX20 4HN 10am-4pm cost £21 members/ £23 non-members.
Beautiful effects can be obtained with just an ordinary sewing machine and different speciality needles. Different fabrics such as calico and silk can be combined to make a cushion or small quilt !
During the day you will make a range of samples showing decorative stitching methods using a sewing machine. These replicate the delicate work seen on antique Victorian clothes such as blouses and christening dresses. The techniques can also be used to excellent effect on quilts and embroideries. Techniques covered will include pin tucks, mock drawn thread work using twin, triple, wing and twin wing needles, lace insertion, scalloped edges and cut work!
I will provide the various needles for students to use. After the class the needles can be returned to me or purchased if required.
We ran this workshop in March and as it was over subscribed Steph agreed to come again. [photo inside back page Summer issue]
