The Business part of the Meeting was dealt with quickly, and we then settled to a Talk from Steve Lockie ‘Why do we disagree with the judges?’
Steve is a qualified Judge, and explained in great detail how judges, in general, arrive at the conclusions they do, and why.
This was followed by Show and Tell, a few ladies with their wonderful quilts, sharing them with us, and telling their tales. Very inspiring to many of us.
After Lunch Helen Keenam gave her Talk entitled ‘Dipped Toes and Lasting Passions’ which, as the title suggests, covered her history in quilting to the present day. The Audrey Dean Award of a Silver Thimble for the best First Quilt was won by
There were four First Quilts on display, and voting was carried out by the Membership present (using cloakroom tickets)
