STITCHERS NEWS:

For boys and girls age 5 to 16 with a small charge to cover materials and any hire costs of the venue. Please either telephone or e-mail me to book a place. Payment for the workshops is made on the day and I need at least five children to make it worth while to run any workshop. All children will make their own SWQ Young Stitchers badge as well as what we are making in the workshop itself.

Christmas workshop - The morning of our Christmas meeting in November at Exeter Racecourse in a separate space from the main meeting. We will be making a lovely Christmas stocking measuring about 30cm in length. Children will be welcomed to stay for lunch and to sit with us and listen to the afternoon speaker. Chairman’s Challenge - I would love to have a display of Young Stitchers work for the Challenge. So, there will be workshops after Christmas for the exhibition in March ….
Young Stitchers Competition 2010 - 'The Blooming West Country'
The adults are busy having fun making quilts for a big exhibition at the Westpoint Arena near to Exeter which happens from 26 to 28 March 2010.  So here’s your chance to get in on the fun and make a smaller quilt for lots of people to see and to try and win a prize.  You will need to make a mini quilt measuring 30cm by 30cm, no bigger no smaller with the same theme as the adults of The Blooming West Country.  If you are interested please print out the attached entry form and return it to me before the end of January 2010.   I will then send out a quilt label for you to complete and return to me with your finished quilt by 10 March 2010.

Things to make -
In each issue of the Magazine there will be something for Young Stitchers to make as well as a project on the website to be printed out .….
