Get Together Day Tresillian Village Hall TR2 4AW Cornwall
'Bias applique'
This year we are slightly altering the format of the Get Together days. This is what we have discussed with members over the last year.
We will still be having corners but these will be in the afternoon where you will sew with the tutors. We will be following a theme. You will be shown and practice a technique, then discuss ideas for developing this into your work. We all have our favourite ways of doing something so this is your opportunity to share and learn in the mornings. We want you to try a new way of doing something. We aim to then allow you sewing time in the afternoon with the demonstrators where you can practice a technique which may be new to you, and provide small projects to use these techniques.
We then are going to set a challenge for the year of using these ideas into making a cushion, wall hanging or quilt using the combined techniques to be finished by January 2014 for the New Year Party.
Please bring cutting equipment, fabric for bias, fabric for background (maybe calico as this is just a trial on bias applique), hand sewing equipment. Also a Show and Tell during the morning.
